Do you have 24-hour service?

Yes: Office hours Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5 pm

After hours: 24 hour emergency numbers

What does the central station do?

Monitors all signals and events coming from the home or business.

Do I need to have central station monitoring?

To have a complete security system 24-hour monitoring ensures a response to a fire, burglar or panic situation by cellular transmission. A landline connection is no longer required. (Most home owners insurance companies offer a discount for a system with central station monitoring)

How does a radio transmitter work?

Transmits alarm using cellular towers to the central station.

Do you support smart phone apps so I can control my system while away from my home/business?

Yes, apps are available for alarm and video surveillance.

Can I receive alarm notifications via text message on my phone?
If you wish to be enrolled in text notifications from central station please contact the office and we can get you set up.
Will I have to pay a permit charge to my town?

All towns are different. Call your local police department or your town hall for information.

How do I reset my system after the alarm has been set off?

Enter your code then press On/Off key or Enter key depending on your keypad.

What type of systems do we install?

We implement both hardwired and wireless systems to fit the clients individual needs.

Can I get cameras on my phone?

Yes, as long as you have internet connectivity.

How do I shut down my system in the event of a power failure?
In the event of a power outage, when you are getting a low battery signal and want to stop the beeping, please follow the following steps. We suggest you cut out the steps below and tape to your control panel:

1. Locate your control panel for the alarm.

2. Remove the black or beige transformer plugged into the electrical outlet.

3. Locate the key to the control panel, which should be either on the top of the panel or the lip on the bottom.

4. Inside the box remove either the red or black lead to the battery. No need to do both.

5. Confirm on your keypad there are no lights. Your system is now shut down.

6. Once your power has been restored, plug in the power cord and make sure to reattach the lead and let the battery recharge. The battery can take up to 24 hours to recharge.

7. Please note you may also be shutting down your smoke & carbon monoxide protection if they are connected to the alarm system.

I'm moving, how do I cancel monitoring?

Please be reminded that in the event of a move, we need to be notified. To cancel your Central Station Monitoring services, the request must be received in writing. You can send an email to office@jandmsecurity.com. Please include your name, address and date you wish to cancel the monitoring service.
